District 2 - Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)

On 04/13/2008, 0147, Sgt. J. Jenkins was on routine patrol in the area of Cranebrook Park. The park closes at dark and Sgt. Jenkins observed a vehicle parked and when he checked, he found 2 occupants half dressed lying on the passenger seat. A faint odor of marijuana was detected. The occupants dressed and stepped from the vehicle. The male driver, W/M, 17, had glassy eyes and appeared to be very nervous. The driver stated he had not drunk alcohol or smoked marijuana. A verbal consent was granted for a search and three amounts of marijuana were found inside the vehicle. The driver and passenger, W/F, 17, were arrested for Possession of Marijuana, M/A.

Deputy D. Weatherford was dispatched to I 45 and SH 242 in reference to a possible intoxicated male driver. A vehicle matching the description was located and a traffic stop was made by Deputy Weatherford and Deputy R. Moody. The driver, W/M, 37, had strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person. The driver consented to field sobriety tests and it was determined, he was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, SJF.

On 04/16/2008, 2024, Deputy T. McCoy was dispatched to 1025 Sawdust in reference to a Theft in Progress. Upon arrival, Deputy McCoy met with store employees who advised two males entered the store and chose a 42″ LCD flat screen TV and exited through the garden department, paying for the TV with gift cards. Another male entered the store and chose the same type of TV and exited through the garden department attempting to use the same receipt issued earlier. The three black males, ages 49, 36 and 51 were detained and after search and investigation, the three were charged with Organized Crime, SJF, Credit Card Abuse, SJF and Possession of Controlled Substance, F2.

While on routine patrol on 04/19/2008, 2008, Deputy T. McCoy observed a driver loose control of his vehicle several times and veering into other lanes of traffic. A traffic stop was made and the male driver, 18, and juvenile female passenger were interviewed. A strong odor of burned marijuana was coming from inside the car. Driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle and gave consent to search. Deputy McCoy found the marijuana and driver was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, M/B. Juvenile passenger was released to her father.

On 04/20/2008, 0104, Deputy K. Christensen was dispatched to a vehicle accident in the 2500 block of I-45 S. Deputy made contact with white female driver, 23, and smelled the odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath. Driver admitted to having two glasses of wine. The driver agreed to field sobriety tests and it was determined she was intoxicated. She was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B.

District 6 - Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)

On 04/16/2008, 1237, Deputy R. Almendarez was dispatched to 1320 Lake Robbins in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Suspect, W/F, 42, had concealed three pairs of shoes in her bag and exited the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise. She was arrested for Theft, M/B.

Deputy S. Spencer was dispatched to 1201 Lake Woodlands in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Loss Prevention personnel advised two white females concealed items of clothing in their purses and exited the store without paying. Both suspects were taken into custody for Theft, M/B.

On 04/19/2008, 0045, Deputy T. Conklin received a call from security officer at 1601 Lake Robbins advising a guest was refusing to pay his bar tab of $91.24. Deputy received three voluntary statements from witnesses and receipts showing the amounts accumulated. The deputy met with the suspect and he had no ID, but said he had a Georgia DL. Dispatched advised the Georgia DL was suspended. He arrested for Theft of Service, M/B.

M/A = Class A Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000 and/or a maximum of one year in jail.
M/B = Class B Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000 and/or a maximum of 180 days in jail.
M/C = Class C Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
SJF = State Jail Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 180 days to 2 years.
F3 = 3rd Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 10 years.
F2 = 2nd Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 20 years.
F1 = 1st Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 5 to 99 years.
SFST = Standardized Field Sobriety Test
