A recent blog included information related to a new vehicle use policy enacted by The Woodlands Fire Department in March of 2007.
In the blog, we included information about a violation of this new policy by the former Woodlands Fire Department’s Fire and Life Safety Educator, Kathy Danner. This violation resulted in a reduction of the FLSE’s vehicle assignment status and restricted her from responding to any emergency scene or riding in any and all emergency vehicles unless directed by a chief administrative officer.
New documentation reveals these restrictions were apparently violated on August 27, 2007. Less than a week after signing a disciplinary memorandum acknowledging these new restrictions, a Deputy Chief observed the FLSE responding to an emergency scene in a fire truck.
This action prompted a “Notice of Intent to Discipline and Order to Appear” memorandum to be submitted to the FLSE. The FLSE was placed on administrative leave pending a hearing that took place on August 31, 2007.
The apparent outcome of this hearing resulted in the FLSE’s involuntary separation from The Woodlands Fire Department.
