8 Day Campaign Finance Reports

The two files below are the 8th day before the election campaign finance reports for The Woodlands V.O.I.C.E. PAC and the WoodlandskNOw PAC. The Woodlands V.O.I.C.E. PAC is supporting the three propositions concerning Town Center Improvement District’s annexation and increased taxation of The Woodlands. The WoodlandskNOw PAC is opposing the propositions.

The V.O.I.C.E PAC report covers the period from September 28, 2007 through October 27, 2007 and the WoodlandskNOw PAC report covers the period from October 3, 2007 through October 27, 2007.

Looking at the $142,000+ of in-kind contributions the developer provided the V.O.I.C.E. PAC should give voters a big clue that the developer thinks a vote for the propositions will benefit the developer greatly. Remember, often times benefits to the developer are liabilities to the residents.

With the developer contributing 90% of the campaign funds for this reporting period, it appears the developer is in complete control of the marketing campaign for the propositions.

The $10,000 donated by Entergy to the V.O.I.C.E. PAC, I imagine, is related in some way to the 5 million dollars a year the developer collects from the utility companies in franchise fees.
