It has been brought to our attention that the City of Stillwater, Oklahoma is currently searching for a fire chief.
Looking at the map, it seems Stillwater is only approximately 60 miles from Oklahoma City.
Based on location alone, this job opportunity appears to be better for the current Woodlands Fire Chief, Alan B. Benson, than the previous Fort Worth, TX opportunity.
Stillwater, Oklahoma is home to Oklahoma State University (OSU). OSU is well known for its School of Fire Protection and Safety Technology.
Unfortunately, a pay cut would be necessary since the top end of the pay range for this position is only $92,440.00. However, I am sure that there are other benefits that may offset the reduction in salary. Some benefits may include the following:

- Cost of living may be less?
- Being a college town, there are sure to be plenty of candidates for internships.
- With its proximity to Oklahoma City, I am sure that Alan B. Benson has many contacts in the Stillwater area that would make him a shoe-in for this position.
- Possibility for additional prestige and income by teaching at the School of Fire Protection at OSU
