Based on data gathered from The Woodlands Township’s 2007 check register, it appears the Township donated more than $680,000 to various organizations throughout the area.
Organizations that received government funds from the Township included:
Center for Houston’s Future - $17,000.
Food and Vine Time Productions - $20,000.
Memorial Hermann Foundation - $250,000.
South Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce - $51,795.
South Montgomery County Economic Development Partnership - $116,990.00

Why should you care? Remember, this is The Woodlands’ government giving away resident’s tax dollars, while they are asking the taxpayers to continually contribute more. If one does a bit of research on the organizations on the list, it is easy to see that many of the organizations have connections to individuals directly involved in The Woodlands governance.
One may wonder what the Township receives in return for these payments.
