District 2 - Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)

On 03/15/2008, 2206, Sgt. B. Herring was dispatched to FM 1488 and Old Conroe Magnolia Road to assist Constable Deputy B. Nickerson. Deputy Nickerson had a driver in custody who may be intoxicated. Sgt Herring made contact with driver, W/F, 25, who advised she had two drinks. She had a strong odor of alcohol when she spoke. Field sobriety tests were conducted and it was determined the driver was intoxicated. She was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B.

Sgt. B. Herring was dispatched to a vehicle accident in the 100 block of Sawdust Road involving Deputy D. Wallace on 03/16/2008, 0217. Deputy Wallace’s personal vehicle was struck in the right rear causing minor damage. The driver, WM, 31, was detained and Sgt. Herring began administering field sobriety tests after smelling the odor of alcohol. The driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B and the passenger, W/M, 31. was arrested for Public Intoxication, M/C.

On 03/16/2008, 2147, Sgt. B. Fitzgerald witnessed and used radar to determine a vehicle traveling on Flintridge Road was driving at 74 miles per hour in a posted 35 miles per hour zone. After a brief pursuit, the driver stopped and exited the vehicle. After speaking with the driver, W/M, 48, a strong odor of alcohol was coming from his breath. The driver admitted to consuming a couple of beers. Several field sobriety tests were conducted and failed by driver and he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B.

On 03/18/2008, 1610, Deputies M. Uber and D. Jobe were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 11000 block of Ellwood Street. The complainant advised when he arrived home he observed a vehicle in his driveway. Upon entering the home, two men, one white and one black, ran out of the house and drove a black four door car through his yard to escape . Deputy D. Hernandez along with Deputy J. Barber responded as back up. Almost immediately, Deputy Hernandez observed a black vehicle driven by a black male with a white male passenger. As Deputy Barber arrived the actor vehicle sped away in an obvious attempt to evade. The vehicle ran several red lights and after reaching speeds of over 90 miles per hour, the vehicle struck two parked vehicles and came to rest. The suspects exited and taken into custody. The driver was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation, F/2, Evading, SJF and Failure to Stop and Render Aid, SJF. The passenger was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation, F2.

On 03/20/2008, 0245, Deputy A. Swank stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Sawdust Road for a traffic infraction. The vehicle was occupied by three people, one being a W/F, 33, Deputy Swank had arrested before for drug possession. After permission to search was obtained from the driver, a metal container was found in the back seat where the female had been sitting. She admitted the container belonged to her. The container had a glass smoking pipe, small rocks of crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia. The female suspect was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, SJF.

District 6 - Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)

On 03/20/2008, 1623, Deputy P. Viands was dispatched to 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive in reference to a shoplifter. Complainant advised he observed a W/M enter the store wearing flip flops and walked out of the store wearing shoes taken from the shoe department. He was detained by loss prevention personnel. Deputy Viands arrested him for Theft, enhanced to SJF because of two prior theft convictions.

Deputy D. Houstoun attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving in the 1300 block of Lake Woodlands Drive on 03/22/2008, 1630. The vehicle continued through the parking lot disregarding stop signs and causing pedestrians to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The vehicle stopped and the suspect attempted to flee, but Deputy Houstoun detained him and he was placed into custody. The vehicle contained a vast amount of clothing with tags still attached from two different stores. The suspect admitted to taking the items. He also gave permission to search his hotel room where more merchandise was found. He was arrested for Evading, SJF, and Theft, SJF.

M/A = Class A Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000 and/or a maximum of one year in jail.
M/B = Class B Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000 and/or a maximum of 180 days in jail.
M/C = Class C Misdemeanor - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
SJF = State Jail Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 180 days to 2 years.
F3 = 3rd Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 10 years.
F2 = 2nd Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 20 years.
F1 = 1st Degree Felony - Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 5 to 99 years.
