A few months back we asked for a list of Woodlands Community Association (WCA) bank accounts and the signatories for those accounts.
As one looks at the list, notice that not only does it include individuals from the WCA (which one would expect), it also includes four individuals from a completely separate, private service corporation, the Woodlands Community Service Corporation (WCSC), also referred to as the Community Associations of The Woodlands (CATW).
After reviewing this document we had a few more questions. The questions were promptly answered in an email from Monique Sharp, assistant GM of Finance and Administration for the WCSC. Yes, you read that correctly. Not only is an employee from another company answering financial questions pertaining to the WCA, the same individual along with the General Manager of the WCSC (both employees of a wholly separate company), can directly write checks out of WCA bank accounts for up to $40,000 without any knowledge or approval of WCA members.
