A pattern we have noticed for quite some time warrants comment.
Take a look at three envelopes received on the same day. The origination address on the three envelopes are: Community Associations of The Woodlands, 2201 Lake Woodlands Drive, 77380; The Woodlands Fire Department, 9951 Grogan’s Mill Road, 77380 and the IRS, 550 Main Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
According to the postmark date, the two envelopes that originated approximately three miles away from their final destination took longer to deliver than the envelope that originated over 1000 miles from its final destination.
Are The Woodlands entities less efficient at getting mail out the door than the IRS? Or, is there something else that can explain this observation?
Remember, most companies have in-house postmarking capability. Also remember, public information request from other local entities such as Town Center Improvement District (TCID) arrive one day after the postmarked date.

You see, the mail that came from Ohio didn’t have to sit on Ms Sharp’s desk for 2-3 days. Not only is TCID more efficient, but they will email documents to speed up the process and save on costs.
