
The Woodlands Fire Department
The Woodlands Fire Department has approximately 85 full-time professional firefighters. With three shifts of 28 firefighters each on-duty 24 hours a day seven days a week. They protect The Woodlands, Texas from six strategically placed fire stations throughout the community. Their response time to an emergency averages under 5 minutes from their station districts within The Woodlands proper.
Also on-duty 24 hours a day seven days a week is The Woodlands Fire Department Dispatch Center. Dispatch is no longer residing at Station 1. It has moved to a location in Shenandoah. From there, the dispatchers dispatch calls for The Woodlands Fire Department as well as all other Montgomery County fire departments excluding the city of Conroe.
The Woodlands Fire Department is a highly trained professional organization of firefighters. In addition to their fire fighting capabilities, they provide emergency medical services and mediate hazardous materials emergencies. Their fire fighting and emergency medical services are mainly limited to The Woodlands area. However, their hazardous materials area of operation includes the whole of Montgomery County. They are also highly trained in technical rescues of those in need that involve high angle, trench, flood, swift water, or structure collapse.
